About GGH
It's community. It's support. It's getting outside for your mental health — and a place where women can show up exactly as they are.
Where it started
Girls Gone Hiking started with a simple idea: get outside with a handful of women and see what happens. It happened in Utah in 2025, on a trail that a few women almost talked themselves out of. By the end of that hike, something had shifted.
The group kept showing up. The community kept growing. One year and 26 hikes later, GGH is still rooted in Utah and now growing far beyond it. Whether you're brand new to hiking or a seasoned adventurer, you belong here.

Our impact
To create safe, inclusive communities where women feel supported, empowered, and inspired to explore the outdoors with confidence — in every city, on every trail, across the country.
We lift each other up on and off the trail.
Real friendships form here — this is more than a hiking group.
All women are welcome, regardless of experience.
We explore with curiosity and courage.
We honor the outdoors and recreate responsibly.
Who we give back to
Mental health is why a lot of us started hiking in the first place, so a share of what we raise goes back out to organisations doing that work. We're adding more partners as the community grows.

How we fundraiseComing soon
We're in conversation with a second organisation focused on women's mental health and counselling access. We'll name them here once it's official.
Coming soon
The trails give us all of this, so we're lining up a stewardship group for trail days and clean-ups alongside our regular hikes.
