The route: A shaded climb of about 700 feet up Armstrong Trail, looping down the foot-traffic-only Dawn's Trail through aspen groves with valley views. Under two hours, a quick, scenic, dog-friendly mountain fix.
Parking: Lowell Ave Base Lots, at the base of PCMR.
