π₯Ύ Distance: 1.0 mile | 285 ft elevation gain
β‘ Difficulty: Moderate

One mile. 285 feet of gain. And a view of Provo Canyon that makes the whole climb worth it.
Buffalo Peak is short, steep, and totally worth it β a rugged ridge trail above Provo Canyon with exposed sections, rocky footing, and a summit that opens up big. We're doing it at 6:00 PM, which means golden hour light the whole way up. π
What to Expect
A steep, exposed ridge with loose rocky terrain and minimal shade β this one asks a little more of you, and pays you back with wide open views over Provo Canyon from the top. Some route-finding involved near the summit. Tiff has personally hiked this trail and conditions are currently perfect.
What to Bring
Water
Trail shoes (sturdy grip β loose rock underfoot)
Light layers (it cools off fast once the sun drops)
Sunscreen + hat
Snack for the summit
Parking Note: Parking is along a dirt road off Squaw Peak Road β can fill up or get bumpy. Plan to arrive a few minutes early and use the GPS meeting point linked below. No permit required.
Dogs: Welcome on leash! πΎ
