Ready for a real day in the mountains? Enniss Peak via Jacob's Ladder is a legitimate challenge, 11.3 miles out-and-back with 3,480 feet of elevation gain, stunning views across Utah and Salt Lake counties, and a long steady climb that earns you every inch of that summit.

The details:

  • 11.3 miles out-and-back

  • 3,480 ft elevation gain

  • 7–8 hours on trail

  • Difficulty: Hard (not recommended for beginners)

  • Sun-exposed most of the way

What to expect: The trail begins at Peak View Trailhead and climbs steadily through the Lone Peak Wilderness. Once you hit Jacob's Ladder, the terrain gets steep, but the upper switchbacks even out and open up into jaw-dropping views of Lone Peak and the surrounding valley. Recent trail reports confirm conditions are clear and dry, though we'll ask everyone to pack microspikes just in case.

Who this hike is for: Hikers with solid fitness, experience on long hikes with significant elevation gain, and comfort with a full day on trail. If you've hiked Grandeur, Olympus, or similar peaks, you're ready for this one. If you're brand new to hiking or unsure whether this is right for you, send me a quick message before signing up, I'm happy to chat it through.

What's included:

  • Pre-hike safety briefing

  • Multiple regroup points along the route

  • A vetted, supportive group of women ready to cheer you on

What to bring: A full gear checklist will be emailed to registered participants a few days before the hike. At minimum: sturdy hiking boots, 3+ liters of water, high-calorie snacks, sun protection, trekking poles, layers, and microspikes.

Group size: Capped at 10 participants for Leave No Trace compliance.
