Sunday, May 31 at 6:00 PM

📍 Dry Canyon Trailhead, Provo

🥾 5.2 miles | 1,423 ft gain | Moderate | Out & Back

🐾 Dog Friendly

This one earns it. The Dry Canyon Trail starts with a steep, leg-burning push right out of the gate, then opens into a steady canyon climb through forest and rock that rewards your effort the whole way up. The turnaround point at Curley Springs is the quiet, scenic payoff after a solid effort.

It's a longer hike with a mix of sun and shade, so come prepared, but you'll have this canyon mostly to yourself, great company, and plenty of time to settle into your stride.

What to Expect

  • Steep start that levels out into a sustained moderate climb

  • Mix of shaded forest sections and exposed rocky terrain

  • 3–4 hours round trip

  • Evening start, golden hour vibes on the way down 🌅

What to Bring

  • Plenty of water (2+ liters recommended)

  • Head Lamp

  • Snacks / trail fuel

  • Sturdy hiking shoes

  • Sun protection + a light layer

  • Your pup on leash (dog friendly! 🐶)

Heads Up Pace yourself on that first push, this one builds. Save your energy for the full climb. Also worth noting: there's no actual springs at the top, just a great view and a well-earned rest. 😄
